According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, Peking University and Tsinghua University are this year's top two universities in China. Beijing, the nation's capital, is home to both institutions.

Zhejiang University
One of the oldest and most prestigious universities in China was founded in Zhejiang Province in 1897.
Agriculture, art, economics, education, engineering, history, law, literature, management, medical, natural sciences, philosophy, and 12 other academic subjects are all covered by research at the institution.

On campus are several research centers, including 13 independent study academies, three national important research centers for the humanities and social sciences, and six national engineering research centers.
More than 140 universities in 30 different countries have strategic agreements with the university, including Princeton University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Imperial College London.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University
The major research university Shanghai Jiao Tong University is situated in Shanghai, China.
The university has 20 directly affiliated units, five directly affiliated firms, 13 affiliated hospitals, 31 schools/departments, 31 research institutions, and two affiliated medical research institutes.

Handan, Fenglin, Zhangjiang, and Jiangwan are the four campuses that makeup Fudan University in the heart of Shanghai.
The university uses a liberal arts method of instruction and offers a number of English-language courses.

Tongji University
Located in Beijing's northwest Haidian neighborhood lies Tsinghua University. It began to exist in 1911.
Art, economics, education, engineering, history, management, medicine, law, literature, philosophy, and sciences are among the subjects covered by its 20 schools and 54 departments.
In contrast to the numerous structures constructed in a Western design, which show the historical American influence on the campus, it still has a significant amount of its traditional architecture.
The institution offers more than 110 student organizations in the areas of sport, the arts, public welfare, and science and technology.
