Carrier Oils and Essential Oils
India, as a tropical region, is blessed with an immense variety of rare and extremely useful plants. Carrier oils are the best mediums to reach wellness benefits and fragrance of the essential oils and pure floral absolute oils to the skin. They are thick fatty acid oils obtained from the seeds, nuts, or kernels of the plants by the cold-press method. They do not possess any distinct aroma, rather possess moisturizing and healing properties. The carrier oils become edible when they undergo the refining process. Cosmetic manufacturers typically use unrefined or crude carrier oils for their natural goodness. They get natural oils in bulk from essential oil wholesale suppliers.
The popular carrier oils are jojoba, olive, coconut, apricot kernel, argan, sweet almond, and rosehip.
Whereas essential oils are aromatic liquids extracted from the leaves, twigs, stems, roots, flowers, berries, resin, wood, or spices by steam distillation. They carry the aroma, flavor, and properties of the plant from which they are obtained. The perfume makers, food items manufacturers, cosmetic producers, pharmaceutical companies, herbal formulation, and supplements manufacturers, and other industries use essential oils as a component in their manufacturing of end products.
The essential oils include agarwood, cedarwood, copaiba, davana, cypriol, birch, eucalyptus, helichrysum, cardamom, lavender, peppermint, and fenugreek. They offer distinct aroma and wellness benefits.
Essential Oils and Floral Absolute Oils
Most floral absolute oils such as frangipani, calendula, jasmine, and some other floral oils are sold as essential oils by essential oil manufacturers. However, they are not essential oils but absolute oils derived through solvent extraction methods. The delicate flowers cannot withstand the steam distillation process and retain their essence after undergoing the same. Therefore, the manufacturers add natural solvents such as hexane, and others to extract the essence of plant materials or flowers.
Typically, the pure floral absolute oils derived by solvent extraction are darker and thicker than their essential counterparts. Rose otto essential oil is a light yellow thin liquid, while rose absolute oil is a thicker, deep red liquid. They emit intensely, concentrated rosy aromas. The presence and effect of solvents change the appearance of the oils but do not change the original aroma and essence of the natural plant material.
Absolute oils manufacturers offer lotus, rose, night queen, myrrh, benzoin, frankincense, mimosa, lily, ambrette seeds, and tuberose floral absolute oils.

Organic and Inorganic Essential Oils
The essential oil manufacturers derive organic essential oil from organically grown plants without using any additives. The essential oils obtained from the plant parts which belong to conventionally grown trees, shrubs, or herbs are not organic essential oils.
The environmentally-conscious users prefer organic oils as plant cultivation does not harm the soil in which they grow. Also, they are sure that the essential oils do not carry harmful chemical residues from pesticides and fertilizers.
The United States Department of Agriculture provides certification for organic farming. Its certification has got recognition among users, suppliers, and essential oil manufacturers for its authenticity. Some manufacturers also distinguish between wildcrafted and conventional cultivation.
